How to turn off Reddit recommendations and autoplay
Reddit is one platform whose own settings help: you can turn off home-feed recommendations and autoplay. On iPhone, StillTabs adds what Reddit's settings don't: no "open in app" prompts, and videos that only play when you tap them, in Reddit's website without installing its app.
Reddit's own settings
- Home feed recommendations: on the web, turn them off in your preferences; in the app, under account settings → Privacy.
- Autoplay: on the web, Settings → Preferences → Autoplay media; in the app, Settings → Accessibility → Media & animations, which has separate switches for video previews and animated images.
What StillTabs adds
Reddit's mobile website pushes its app, and in 2026 it tested a prompt some frequent logged-out iPhone visitors couldn't dismiss. StillTabs hides the "Open in app" button and bottom sheet in every mode, and in Standard stops videos playing as you scroll. Reddit support is in beta.
StillTabs is free on the App Store, for iPhone. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no account. iOS 16 or later.
