How to get rid of the "For you" tab on X

X doesn't let you remove the "For you" tab or make Following the default. To use X on iPhone without "For you", suggested accounts and trends, use StillTabs (free); X support is in beta.

What X allows

X lets you switch between "For you" and "Following", and pin Lists. That's it: there's no setting to hide "For you", and in 2026 the Following tab itself started defaulting to "Popular" rather than newest first.

X without "For you"

  1. Install StillTabs and open the X tile.
  2. Sign in on X's own page.
  3. In Standard mode, the "For you" tab, suggested accounts and trends are gone. Following, search and the news stay.
