Is there an Unhook for iPhone?

Updated 4 November 2026 · By the StillTabs team

Unhook has no iPhone app; it's a desktop browser extension. StillTabs is the free iPhone app that does the same job: YouTube without Shorts, autoplaying previews and the endless homepage, plus Instagram without Reels, Facebook without the Reels tab (beta), and X without "For you".

What Unhook is

Unhook is a free extension for Chrome and Firefox on a computer. It hides YouTube recommendations, Shorts and comments. Desktop browser extensions don't run in the YouTube app on iPhone, so it can't help on your phone.

YouTube on iPhone the Unhook way

StillTabs brings the same idea to iPhone. In Standard mode, YouTube loses the Shorts tab, the Shorts shelves on Home and autoplaying previews. Strict mode removes Shorts everywhere, in search and on channels too, and opens YouTube straight on your subscriptions; Blackout hides the homepage feed entirely. Search and the video you came for always stay.

And it doesn't stop at YouTube: the same modes apply to Instagram, Facebook, X and Reddit.

What about the desktop?

On a computer, Unhook is a good choice for YouTube. A StillTabs browser extension for Chrome, Brave, Arc and Edge is coming; join the mailing list to hear when it's out.

StillTabs is free on the App Store, for iPhone. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no account. iOS 16 or later.
